The Challenge
Integrating a sophisticated loyalty and gamification program into the flagship mobile app of a major telecommunications provider. The goal was to boost user engagement and retention by seamlessly merging reward dynamics with the existing customer experience, ensuring the new features felt like a native evolution of the platform rather than an external addition.
The Process
Working in collaboration with a specialized partner responsible for gamification mechanics, my team and I led the end-to-end design integration. Our approach focused on maintaining architectural integrity while introducing high-engagement features:
- Benchmarking & Flow Analysis: Conducted an extensive competitive analysis of loyalty programs to map out optimized user journeys for reward discovery and point redemption.
- UX Integration: Defined complex logic flows to bridge the gamification engine with the app’s core account management features.
- UI Kit Development: Created a comprehensive, scalable UI Kit specifically for the loyalty module, ensuring full alignment with the brand’s visual identity while introducing vibrant, “game-like” elements to drive interaction.
- Prototyping & Refinement: Developed interactive prototypes to validate the transition between standard utility functions and the new reward-based experience.
The Outcome
The project resulted in a robust, high-fidelity design kit and a fully integrated loyalty ecosystem. By successfully harmonizing gamification logic with a user-centered interface, we delivered a product that encourages daily active usage and strengthens customer loyalty for one of the country’s leading telco providers.
